Your body has been
holding the story. This is where it learns to let go.

ABOUT CFT
A gentle conversation
between hands and the body.
Gillespie Approach™ Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT) is a gentle, hands-on approach that works with the body's connective tissue, nervous system, and natural rhythms. Rather than forcing change, CFT listens to what the body is already communicating, supporting release where stress, tension, injury, or past experiences may still be held.
-
Your body is woven together by fascia, a connective web linking muscles, organs, nerves, and bones, and by the craniosacral system, which surrounds and protects your brain and spinal cord. When stress or old injuries create tension in either system, it can affect how you move, feel, and function. CFT uses gentle, sustained touch to help your body release that tension and find its way back to balance.
-
CFT supports people of all ages, from newborns to older adults. Families seek CFT for birth tension, feeding challenges, developmental support, sensory processing, emotional regulation, chronic pain, headaches, TMJ discomfort, stress, injury recovery, and nervous system regulation. Every session is tailored to the person on the table.
-
Sessions take place in the comfort of your home, where children naturally feel safest and adults can relax in a familiar environment. You'll remain fully clothed while I use gentle, sustained touch. Adults often describe sessions as deeply calming and restorative, while children are welcome to move, play, rest, nurse, or cuddle throughout, whatever their bodies need. Some notice shifts during the session, others experience changes in sleep, movement, regulation, or comfort in the days that follow.

ABOUT ME
Shelly Carpenter
OTR/L · CFT Practitioner · North County San Diego
Hi, I'm Shelly.
I'm an occupational therapist, a craniosacral fascial therapy practitioner, and a mom…and honestly, all three of those things are inseparable from why I do this work.
For more than a decade, I've worked with children and families navigating development, sensory processing, feeding, and regulation. I've sat with parents who knew something was off long before anyone could name it. I've watched kids work incredibly hard in ways that conventional approaches could only partially reach. But some of my biggest lessons came from my own home, watching a child I love move through hard days in her body. And somewhere in that, I started asking the question:
What if the body is holding on to more than we can see?
That question led me to craniosacral fascial therapy.
As a mom, I've also learned that our children are often our greatest teachers. Parenting a daughter whose nervous system asks more of me than I sometimes know how to give (still, every day) has taught me what it actually means to co-regulate: to try to be a steady, safe presence for someone else’s body when my own feels frayed too. That experience changed how I show up in every session.
Today, I work with infants, children, adults, and postpartum mothers. Some people come seeking support for tension, discomfort, recovery, or stress. Others are simply looking for a different approach after feeling like they've run out of answers. Whatever brings you here, every session is individualized and guided by your body's own pace.
I don’t believe healing can be forced.
I believe that when the body feels safe enough, it often knows exactly what to do.
My role is simply to listen, support, and help create the space for that to happen.
